Why I Use Squarespace for My Web Design Clients

blog post about why I use Squarespace for my web design clients

When it comes to building websites for my clients, my priority isn’t just to make them look amazing (though that’s obviously high on the list)—it’s about creating a platform that works for them long after launch. Enter Squarespace. This is the platform I rely on because it’s easy for my clients to manage, beautifully designed right out of the box, and—importantly—optimized for mobile. Let’s dive into why Squarespace is my top pick and how it can make your life (and website) a whole lot easier.

1. User-Friendly (Even After the Site is Launched!)

Let’s be real: a gorgeous website isn’t much use if you can’t figure out how to update it later. One of the things I love most about Squarespace is that I can hand the reins over to my clients, and they don’t feel overwhelmed. The interface is clean, simple, and intuitive, so making edits, adding blog posts, or updating galleries doesn’t feel like a tech nightmare.

I design sites to fit each client’s unique style, but with Squarespace, they get the bonus of being able to keep things fresh without needing to call me for every small change. It’s about giving you control—because no one knows your business (or brand) better than you!

2. No Technical Headaches

I’ve seen other platforms where maintaining a site after launch can feel like trying to solve a Rubik’s Cube. Not with Squarespace. You don’t need to deal with updating plugins, worrying about site security, or diving into a sea of confusing settings. Everything is built-in and ready to go. It’s the kind of “set it and forget it” ease that my clients rave about—so they can focus on running their business, not troubleshooting their website.

3. Mobile-Friendly from the Start

The world lives on mobile devices, so your website needs to look flawless on phones and tablets—no exceptions. Squarespace has mobile-responsive design baked into every template, so I know that when I’m creating a website, it’s going to look just as polished on a tiny screen as it does on a desktop. No weird formatting issues or images that cut off halfway—just smooth, professional design across all devices.

I can’t tell you how often clients are surprised to learn that most of their site traffic comes from mobile users. Having a site that’s already optimized for mobile is a huge win—no extra steps needed. And let’s face it, no one has time to pinch-and-zoom their way through a badly formatted mobile site.

4. It’s All There—No Extra Pieces Required

One of my favorite things about Squarespace is how complete it feels. You don’t need to go hunting for plugins or third-party apps to make things work. From e-commerce functionality to built-in SEO tools and analytics, it’s all right there, ready to be used. This means fewer moving parts (and fewer things to break), giving me peace of mind that the site is going to run smoothly for my clients.

5. Empowering Clients to Take Control

One of the main reasons I keep coming back to Squarespace for my web design clients is because it empowers them. I love seeing my clients feel confident about managing their own website after launch—whether they’re uploading a new photo gallery, writing a blog post, or tweaking the layout to reflect their evolving brand. Squarespace’s easy-to-use tools make this a reality. No more calling your designer for every tiny update (though, of course, I’m always here if you need me!).

For me, Squarespace is about simplicity. It’s the platform that allows me to create custom, on-brand designs that my clients can actually use without needing a crash course in web development. And with mobile optimization built right in, I know their sites are ready to impress visitors—no matter how they’re browsing.
