Fashion Portrait Photoshoot in Downtown Lansing

I had so much fun with my model Maggie on Friday shooting fashion inspired portraits in Downtown Lansing, Michigan. The mood for the shoot was fun, edgy, street, and chic. We shot late in the morning with full sun, which typically most would think that is an unideal time to schedule a photoshoot because of how high the sun is in the sky and unflattering light, but fun fact, I tend to schedule all of my portrait shoots at that time because when you are downtown it truly doesn’t matter, unless you are on top of a parking ramp (Although full sun photos can be very beautiful as well if done correctly!) With the buildings you can find plenty of shaded areas or even use cool shadows as an effect. I love the look and feel of photographing in a city environment because it is so versatile and you can use the location for several different looks.
