So you are ready to hit the ground running with launching your new product-based business or seasonal collection. You have all the goods, but you are missing one vital thing….photos of your products. It is super easy to feel overwhelmed at this point because all you want to do is get this thing going and you are contemplating doing it all yourself, but you have enough on your plate. If this sounds like you, read below for 4 reasons why your business needs professional product photography and why you don’t have to do it all on your own!

REASON #1: High-quality photos + First impression = Confident Customer Purchase

When was the last time you purchased something online before seeing it in person? Probably just a few minutes ago right? The vast majority of people shop online and first impressions are everything! When you have high-quality photos on your website, customers will have a sense that you are professional, a reputable business, and feel comfortable buying from you.

REASON #2: Less Stress for the Business Owner

Running a business is tough and there is a lot that goes into it. If you are a solopreneur like myself, you wear all the hats already. Taking high-quality photos may seem easy enough, but I assure you, it’s more than just clicking a button. Having knowledge of lighting, composition, styling, photo editing, and settings on your camera are all important to ensure you are getting the best possible outcome and it is an expertise all on its own. When you hire a product photographer, you can work together to make a plan on how you envision your product photos to look.

REASON #3: Content is King

Not only are product photos necessary for your website, but they also serve as great content for you to share on your business social media. Imagine going on Instagram or Facebook and only using words to describe the product(s) you are selling or only having poor-quality photos that don’t represent your brand. People are visual and need to see themselves in your product. Having great, high-quality images that really tell a story will help your customer determine whether something is worth their time and money. That’s why I highly encourage lifestyle photos of your products in addition to e-commerce (white background store images). Whether that is of a person using your product or a styled scene of your product in a kitchen or bathroom setting. These types of images allow you to set the tone of your overall brand and speak to your target customer.

REASON #4: Share-Worthy

If you have high-quality, storytelling photos of your products they have a higher likelihood of being shared and ultimately attract your ideal customers to your brand and make them want to learn more about what you have to offer.
